Changing a tenants main domain

The main domain of the tenant is the primary domain that it's available under. It will also be the value for home and siteurl options. Check this guide on how to set a domain as main domain.

When your domain gets verified, you can set it as a main domain. The main domain serves as the home and all the data of the old main domain gets replaced with the new main domain.

However, if you have added multiple domains for your tenant, the main domain will be used in the database and other domains will function as redirect domains. The reason behind the redirection is the default WP behaviour. For example, you can use plugins to have different behaviour for different domains using the domain mapping plugin.

In this documentation, we will explore steps to set a domain as a main domain:

Let’s get started🚀

Step 1: Log in to your wildcloud account and you will be navigated to the Applications page by default.

Step 2: Click on Go To App of the app in which you want to set the domain as the main domain.

Note: You can also click on the application name as it will navigate you to the same window.

Step 3: Click on the Tenants option from the left side menu and it will navigate you to the tenant details page.

Step 4: Click on the Tenant name to set the domain as main.

Alternatively, you can also move to the tenant section and click on the tenant name. It will navigate you to the same window.

Step 5: Click on the Domains sub-section, which is selected by default.

Step 6: Hover your cursor on the domain name that you want to set as main and click on the Set as main button.

Step 7: A modal window will appear to confirm the action. Click on the Confirm button to set the domain as a main domain.
